Replacing an old drawer runner?

What's fitted now?

Metal ball-bearing runnerTelescopic, about 45 mm tall, screwed to the drawer side and cabinet side. Most kitchens since 2000.

Roller runnerWhite or cream metal with a plastic wheel at each end; the drawer lifts out when you pull it fully.

Concealed undermountHidden under the drawer, clips at the front (Blum Tandem / Movento, Hettich Quadro, Häfele).

Metal-sided drawer boxGrey or white steel drawer sides with the runner built in (Blum Tandembox / Metabox, Hettich InnoTech, GTV Axis).

Closed length of the old runnerMeasure the fixed cabinet part, closed, front to back.

Would you like…

Pull the drawer out and lift or unclip it off the runners.
Measure the part still screwed to the cabinet, fully closed, from its front edge to its back edge – that is the runner length.
Measure how tall the metal runner (or the steel drawer side) is.
If you can, measure the inside depth of the cabinet from the front edge to the back panel.
