GTV Axis Pro drawer calculator

Enter your carcass size and get the exact base and back panel cutting sizes for a GTV Axis Pro drawer, plus the depth, height and front drilling you need. Based on GTV's own Axis Pro technical data.

Banding is taken off the back panel cut height so the finished panel matches GTV's size.

Back panel fitting

Axis Pro bases and backs are cut from 16 mm board, as specified by GTV for these sets. Your carcass thickness only changes the internal width. For the standard Axis Pro range (PB-AXISPRO codes), not the separate Axis Pro 18 mm range.

How the sizes are worked out

GTV publishes Axis Pro panel sizes as formulas based on the internal width of the carcass (LW) and the nominal runner length (NL). The calculator simply does the maths for you.

Part (16 mm board)Option 1: back behind baseOption 2: back on top of base
Drawer base(LW − 75) × (NL − 24)(LW − 75) × (NL − 10)
Back panel widthLW − 87LW − 87
Back height: Low / Medium84 / 116 mm68 / 100 mm
Back height: High / Extra high167 / 199 mm151 / 183 mm
Minimum internal depthNL + 10 mm
  • Internal width: external carcass width minus two carcass side thicknesses (a 600 mm carcass in 18 mm board gives LW = 564 mm).
  • Minimum opening height (clear space between carcass panels): Low 115 mm, Medium 147 mm, High 198 mm, Extra high 230 mm.
  • Front fixings: low and medium drawers use two fixings each side, 32 mm apart; high and extra high use four, spaced 32, 64 and 32 mm. The lowest must be at least 47.5 mm above the bottom edge of the front (its exact height depends on your front overlap). Pilot holes Ø2 mm.
  • Back panel fixings: rear connector screws 9.5 mm in from each end of the back panel, measured down from its top edge at 19 / 51 mm (low), 19 / 51 / 83 mm (medium) and 19 / 83 / 147 mm (high and extra high).
  • Edge banding: GTV's sizes are finished sizes. If you band the top edge of the back panel, take the banding thickness off the cut height (the calculator does this for you).
  • Push to open: GTV advises that the drawer width should not exceed the runner length; if it does, fit the PB-AXISPRO-SYNCHRO-P2O synchronisation rod.
